JOHN SPENCER

John Spencer was born in June 1947 in Limerick, Republic of Ireland.

From 1969 to 1988 John worked in the Advertising industry and was Joint President and chief copywriter of an Irish Agency from 1973 to 1988. In more recent years he has been running a software consultancy and training company in Dublin and also has been the chief technical writer for the firm's software training manuals.

"My live has revolved around words and writing from the mid 1960's when I edited the school magazine and then edited and published a periodical to promote the case for a University in my native Limerick. I penned countless thousands of pieces of advertising copy and scripts over the succeeding two decades."

He travels extensively and has recently starting writing short humorous accounts of these trips.

John has two grown up children and three grandchildren. Currently he lives in Sandycove, a coastal suburb of Dublin, with his French wife, Pascale.
